Ginuwine Breaks Silence On Falling Out W/ Timbaland, "I Begged & Pleaded With Him"

R&B singer Ginuwine has broken his silence on falling out with producer Timbaland and said his former associate gave him the cold shoulder on various occasions.

According to Gin, it was Timbaland who cut off ties with him.

"Me and Tim were real close at one point," he explained in an interview. "A lot of the times that I reached out, there were a bunch of excuses. I begged and pleaded with him because I felt a certain way but I was like, is it just a bad vibe that I'm picking up on? Maybe I'm bugging out, I don't know. But it came out to be true and I still feel like he owes me an apology for that. The reason I'm pissed off at him now is because of what he did. I would've been cool and not bothered him if he would've said, 'Nah, I'm too busy,' or gave me the lame excuse like he's been giving me. But don't do it and then not do what you're supposed to do [to promote the song]." (VIBE)

Rumors on their issues began to surface on multiple music blogs last fall.

What's really good between old pals Timbaland and Ginuwine? It seems Tim doesn't want to be in Ginuwine's video for "Get Involved" ft Missy and Timbaland himself, and is said to have dodged Ginuwine's calls. He even used the excuse that he was getting "too fat" as a reason to back out of the video which left Ginuwine hurt about the situation. (Bryonce)

Tim is widely acclaimed for helping shape Ginuwine's early singing career.

With the strikingly inventive Timbaland behind the boards, Ginuwine cut his debut album, Ginuwine...The Bachelor, and released it later in 1996. "Pony" became a number one R&B smash, also reaching number six on the pop charts, and the album became an eventual double-platinum hit. It spun off several more R&B hits over the next year, including "Tell Me Do U Wanna," "I'll Do Anything/I'm Sorry," "Holler," and "Only When Ur Lonely"; it also featured a homage to one of Ginuwine's main influences in the cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry." (All Music)

Gin's latest album was released in July 2009 and debuted on the Top 200.

R&B singer Ginuwine made his return to the charts this week as A Man's Thoughts locked in No. 9. After seven days on shelves, the singer's new album has sold 37,400 records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)

Nas Loses Court Battle W/ Kelis, Must Pay $299K To Estranged Wife

New York rapper Nas has reportedly been ordered to pay his estranged wife/singer Kelis more than $299,000 for spousal and child support.

According to reports, the ruling was made official on Monday (April 12).

Nas went to court Monday over his divorce with Kelis -- and walked out a little lighter in the wallet. According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nas had to immediately fork over $47,249.42 in back child support and $40,454 in back spousal support. The judge also ordered Nas to pay $10,000/month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 he owes Kelis. Nas also has to pay 90% of Kelis' legal fees in the amount of $155,787.28. Lastly, Nas has to pay $48,549.83 to cover Kelis' accounting expenses. (TMZ)

Reports last December showed Nas paying over $51,000 a month to Kelis in spousal and child support.

UPDATE: 7:54 PM PT The judge just ordered Nas to pay $40,454 in spousal support and $10,647 in child support. And, Nas must pay disso-queen Laura Wasser's attorney's fees, to the tune of $46,022. Nas has just taken the stand in his divorce case, testifying that he wants overnights with his son. Kelis has custody for now, but Nas' lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, wants his client to score some face time with the kid. (TMZ)

The two ex-lovers allegedly attempted to reconcile their differences last fall.

During Wednesday's hearing Kelis said that the couple -- who announced their intention to divorce in April after a four-year marriage -- attempted to reconcile in September to no avail. She also reportedly testified that she has been having difficulty earning money because she is a new mother and doesn't have a lot of job options outside of the music business. She told the court that Nas is slated to release two albums in 2010. (MTV)

On a recently leaked unreleased track called "Strong Will Continue," Nas addressed his legal woes with Kelis.

On the track, he makes reference to a 1993 incident where martial arts film star Bruce Lee's son Brandon was killed on set of The Crow. "Twisted and mangled, sort of like Bruce Lee life/Cursed with his son Brandon/ If that's you and me Knight/ I pray our fate's greater." The 36 year-old MC is less than pleased with his reported court-ordered spousal and child support payments of $52,000 per month. "How in the h*ll am I supposed to stay comfy/ When I pay child support, alimony monthly," he raps. And as for rumors that he cheated on his wife, Nas has something to say on that topic as well. "So I've stuck with some married women so fine, cheating while their husband rushing on the 40-yard line/ Wonder if this is what my ex did the whole time." (Rap-Up)

Shyne Officially Makes Rap Comeback, Releases "Messiah" [Audio]

Former Bad Boy artist Shyne has officially made his return to hip-hop with the release of his new song, "Messiah."

The track officially debuted Monday (April 12) night.

"I got the city on my back," Shyne raps. "Pretty women in the sack, rollin' in the Rolls/Sit, sittin' in my lap/This is not a rap fool, this a not an act/Welcome to New York blood, this is where it's at/Snitches take a nap with the fishes and the rats/Buried in the dirt where the witnesses is at/Hear the whistle when I clap from the missile that I pack/Once you violate, like a ribbon, it's a wrap/From Gangland to the Oval Office, next ten years I'ma control the market.." ("Messiah")

Shyne's new track has already received praise from various music outlets and critics.

The beat is incredibly gutter, but Shyne's voice alone is going to shake up the Big Apple. It's commanding and distinct. He automatically catches your attention, and there's no trace of rust in his flow. I predict that NYC is going to be cheering for Shyne for quite some time. Swizz Beatz already told us weeks ago that he would lace Shyne's album, and who knows who else will contribute to Shyne's comeback? He's still one of the most respected in the game. (MTV)

The rapper was originally set to debut his first post-prison track on DJ Khaled's Victory album.

"He fit me into his schedule and I appreciate it," Khaled said about Shyne. "The thing is, the record got leaked. Some hacker actually leaked it and it messed me up because when they leaked it, the publishers on the production of the track -- came at me and tried to come at me on some legal stuff so I couldn't even use it on my album. That's why I hate these hackers. They ruin surprises -- but at the end of the day, at least the streets got it and we fed the streets." (Jessie Maguire)

Last February, music executive LA Reid inked Shyne to a recording contract with Def Jam.

"I have come here to stand by Shyne and to officially kick off our partnership with Island Def Jam Music Group and Gangland Records and so it is really an honour to be here, really very special place. I am here because great people are worthy of travelling many many miles for it and I come here to say that your country is great and I hope you guys know that this is a great man from your country who deserves this kind of respect and who deserves this kind of support. So that is why we are here." (7 News Belize)

Drake Reveals Biggest Rap Co-Signs, "Rick Ross, Jeezy, The Hardest Dudes [Call Me]"

Young Money's Drake opened up about his co-signs from fellow artists like Rick Ross, Jeezy, B.G. and more.

According to Drizzy, he also gets support from incarcerated rappers like C-Murder.

"For anybody that doesn't believe in me, your favorite rappers do," he added. "They call me for hooks, features and all that. Ross, Jeezy, the hardest dudes--B.G. C-Murder calls me from jail. Turk calls me from jail to tell me I'm doing great. For the people that don't believe, the people that you do believe in got love for me. That's all that matters." (XXL Mag)

Rap heavyweight Fat Joe recently praised Drizzy's rap talent.

"He's just moving at a way faster pace than other artists have in the past," Joe explained in an interview. "He's putting out maybe five, six, seven hit records. You know how hard it is for a person to have one hit? So imagine what his album is like...Two very different artists...As far as I'm concerned, [50 Cent] had one hot album, and his first album was a classic and that's it. After that everything else was bubble gummed down. So Drake, I think he will outlast 50 Cent. If you talk about 50 Cent on top really making hot music it didn't even last two, three, four years. Looking at the quality of the music that Drake is making and the different lanes--he wrote that song for Alicia Keys, 'Unthinkable'--I think we ain't seen nobody like him yet." (VIBE)

Hip-Hop pioneer LL Cool J previously gave Drake props for his skills.

"It's a lot of talented guys out there," LL explained in an interview. "Lil Wayne is talented. He seems to be the dominant figure in this particular era of hip-hop. So you know, he's doing his thing. I like Drake, you know, that 'You The Best' is a good record...It's a good song. There's a lot of talented guys out there so you know, kudos fellas." (Hip Hop Official)

Last year, actor/singer Jamie Foxx explained the similarities between Drake's rap image and the young LL Cool J.

"Drake is the new movement," Foxx said in an interview. "To have records on a mixtape, and then the next thing you know he's on top of the charts. And every time you mention him, people go crazy...And then to be on a track with Bun B...and...Bun B, he doesn't get on tracks with people unless it's really legit...[Drake] has a way with women, in how he portrays himself. His music is...he can go as gangster as he wants, but when he sings, that is the X-factor...This guy's actually melodically soothing when he's singing to females and I think that gives him a little bit of what my man LL Cool J had...The reason LL Cool J lasted for so long was because he was an absolute monster when it came to battle rap, but he was, when it came to females...there's not a lady in the world don't want to be at an LL Cool J show. So, if this guy can capture what I think he can capture, he'll really have that." (MTV)

Producers on the project include DJ Clark Kent, the Olympics and past co-conspirators J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, the Runners and the Inkredibles. (XXL Mag)

His album is slated to be released in the summer.

Rick Ross has been dropping more freestyles than Weezy lately, but the Bawse is finally coming clean with the first official single from his fourth album Teflon Don, due June 29. Ross breezes through "Super High" with help from labelmate Ne-Yo and production by DJ Clark Kent and The Remedy. "Magnificent (Part 2)," anyone? (Rap-Up)

Last January, Ross talked about the project being one of his biggest to date.

"It's a lot of Internet, a lot of online chatter going on -- a lot of talk of this new Rick Ross/John Legend collaboration," Ross said. "I'm confirming it. It's official. We got another record...Ah man, I don't know how to describe this one. 'Magnificent' was one of my favorite records off Deeper Than Rap. But the new John Legend [collaboration] is most definitely next-level vibe. We back at it. It's most definitely creative. Shout-out to John Legend -- I think he makes a huge contribution to music. Myself, I try to get better and better with every rhyme I make -- every rhyme I bring to the table, I want to make sure it's more potent than the last. I'm setting this album, Teflon Don, to be the album of my career." (MTV)

Ross recently spoke with SOHH about predicting he would make the best records for 2010.

"Honestly, n*ggas can talk sh*t but it's hard to really make predictions other than lord willing we'll be still here, you know what I"m saying," Ross told SOHH. "N*ggas here, free, alive, other than that, we just gonna make the best music we gonna make. And I feel it's gonna competewith the best music that's being made right now." (SOHH)

Drake Denies Olivia Collaboration, "I Apologize To Any Fan Who Was Duped"

Young Money's Drake has released a statement saying that he did not authorize the use of his vocals on Olivia's recently leaked song, "Control."

In a statement, Drizzy says he has never worked with the former G-Unit member.

"I support artist collaborations and sampling music that inspires you but I don't support taking unauthorized recordings and marketing them as features," Drake explained. "I've never worked with Olivia and I apologize to any fan who was duped into thinking that 'Control' was a collaboration of mine." (All Hip Hop)

Olivia said the track is from her upcoming mixtape, Under the Radar.

"Hey guys my mixtape comes out n a 2 weeks be clear the 2 records that have leaked r just that mixtape records.sorry I couldn't present it to u myself!but rock out 2em," she wrote over the weekend. "@richdollaz is pissed lol its all good its the internet age we live in,its a gift and curse..Thank u 2all my true supporters.love u all...RT @BlogXilla: @OliviaLongott @Richdollaz umm how come i didn't get a copy of the joint w/ Drake?<--covering my face we were leaked!' (Olivia's Twitter)

The record leaked online late Friday (April 9) night.

New hot track called "Control" by singer, Olivia who is also a former G-Unit first lady surfaced recently. It features Canadian rapper, Drake. Olivia is currently working on her sophomore album titled 'Show the World' and is due to be released sometime in mid or end of 2010. (Music Juzz)

Last month, Olivia spoke with SOHH about joining forces with new manager, Rich Dollaz.

"He's a character" Olivia told SOHH with a smile. "I love Rich, I'm glad we teamed up. We probably met, I wanna say six or seven months ago. And it feels like I've known him my whole life. So it's a great connection with the both of us, we work very well, I don't have to tell him what I need done, like, he'll call me and be on top of it all the time with like interviews and whatever. Most managers don't talk to their artists on a daily basis and he does that, which is really good." (SOHH)
