Jeezy Talks T.I. & Running Rap, "We Was Like Big & Jay, Pac & Snoop

Southern rapper Jeezy recently talked about his relationship with fellow Atlanta superstar T.I. and compared their chemistry to past rap duos like Biggie Smalls and Jay-Z.

According to Jizzle, he has always had a tight knit relationship with Atlanta's "King of the South."

"I always took this thing like me and Tip was like Big and Jay. Just in the sense of we always coexist. We really never had no issues or nothing we couldn't work out. And if it was it was just what club we meeting at. What time, you know what I'm saying? Anything he's done, I've pretty much supported him, just as well as anything I've done, he pretty much supported me. He like the cat on the other side of town who get money, too. And it's like that. You could be in the city and two n*ggas run the city, you know what I'm saying? Like, we been on a few tours together, you know, did a couple of classic records, and um, it's just one of those things. That's how I always looked at it. Like we was like Big and Jay. Pac and Snoop." (VIBE)

Readying a new album, Thug Motivation 103, Jeezy recently talked about launching a summer takeover.

"But June, by the way," he said of the LP's release date. "That's what I'm thinking. If you the boss, you can talk like that. I'm thinking June. I wanna own the summer. If you coming out [with an album] in June, you might wanna think about that, bruh. TM103, I will be there...I'm just going in, basically handling my business. I gotta say what's on my mind. But I'm not here to sell you on no album. Like I said, June, you will be surprised, homie. That's real talk. I been working on this. I been back in the lab...I got you." (MTV)

The rapper reportedly shortened his name from "Young Jeezy" earlier this year.

First Diddy dropped the P. from his name, then Bow Wow grew out of his Lil status, and now Jeezy has decided he no longer wants to be Young. Jay Jenkins' name change graces the cover art for "Lose My Mind," the street single from his forthcoming albumThug Motivation 103. The moniker first appeared on the credits for Rihanna's "Hard," but it's now official. So Jeezy it is. (Rap-Up)

Still keeping details to a minimum, Jeezy has reportedly clocked in some studio time with producer Swizz Beatz.

"Oh man, sooner than later," Jeezy said about the album's release date last January. "I'm finishing up now, wrapping up now. I was just in the studio 15 minutes ago. Shout-outs to the homie Swizz [Beatz]. [We're] doing some of everything. You know Swizz will keep you up all night. [We did] like two and half [songs.] Look for the album asap." ("Ed Lover Show")
